Two-Piece Wedgwood Primrose and Terracotta Jasperware Etruscan Pitcher and Vase
A two-piece set of English Jasperware manufactured by Wedgwood, featuring a Primrose yellow ground with Terracotta red sprigged relief. The collection consists of one Etruscan style pitcher and one small footed vase. The pitcher is designed with a bulbous body, a curved handle, and a flared spout, decorated with two horizontal bands of repeating floral and geometric patterns and a central neoclassical frieze featuring figures and trees. The small footed vase features a flared rim and a repeating foliate scroll band above neoclassical figures and stylized trees. Both pieces bear the impressed WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND mark on the base. The pitcher includes additional impressed letters G, A, and AW. Both items are marked with the THE WEDGWOOD COLLECTORS' SOCIETY circular backstamp, indicating production for members of the society, likely in the late 20th century. Each piece includes a silver provenance sticker from the Rubin Collection.
