Royal Doulton Character Jugs, Henry VIII D6647 and Jester D5556

Description

This lot consists of two Royal Doulton glazed earthenware character jugs. The first jug depicts King Henry VIII, model number D 6647. The figure is rendered with a brown beard and mustache, wearing a black Tudor-style hat with gold and red accents, a white ruff collar, and a red and yellow striped doublet. The handle is molded in the form of a gray stone castle turret topped with a white plume. The base features a green Royal Doulton factory mark, the pattern name Henry VIII, and the model number D 6647, with a copyright date of 1975. The second jug is The Jester, model number D 5556. The figure displays a weathered, smiling expression and wears a traditional jester's hood in shades of brown, yellow, and green, accented with red bells. The handle is a simple brown curved loop.
