This Lladro glazed porcelain figurine is identified as School Chums (item #01005237) and belongs to the Black Legacy collection. Designed by Salvador Furio, the scene depicts two young boys of African descent seated on a low stone-like wall. The older boy, dressed in a sleeveless light blue shirt and dark trousers, is shown pointing to a page in an open book. The younger boy, wearing a striped cap and carrying a brown satchel, rests his chin on his hands atop a stack of books. An additional stack of books is positioned at the base of the wall. The figurine is finished with a high-gloss glaze in a muted palette of blue, green, and gray tones. The underside of the base features the printed blue Lladro bellflower mark, along with Hand Made in Spain and copyright Daisa 1984. The model number 5207 is impressed into the porcelain.
